Each year the department provides a clinical internship for a master’s level graduate student from an accredited social work school. The graduate student provides services to the department for 2 to 3 days a week under the direct supervision of the clinical staff, the director, and the school.
These internships expand the availability of clinical services to Falmouth residents and promotes the use of alternative resources to supplement the budget.
Sample of accredited colleges who have participated:

Past Intern Testimony
What some of our past interns have said about this program:
- “I instantly felt welcomed by everyone. It was an incredible experience for me clinically, as I was able to work with many different populations with various needs. I felt completely supported by all of the staff, including my supervisor Mark who consistently challenged me and gave me the confidence to continue on in this field. I am very grateful for the experience and would recommend it for anyone looking to get great clinical experience.” - Erica, 2014 Bridgewater State University Graduate
- “Falmouth Human Services provides many wonderful services to the citizens of Falmouth, by using a variety of programs to help people help themselves. As is stated in their mission statement, they are “supporting and empowering residents and strengthening the community as a whole.” The very idea that the Town of Falmouth has a Human Services office says a lot about the value placed on the wellbeing of its citizens. I learned a great deal during my internship at Falmouth Human Services and am grateful for having been given the opportunity to work and learn in my own town.” - Kathy, 2013 Boston University Graduate
