Mission Statement
The Beach Department is responsible for maintaining and staffing 10 beaches in Falmouth, as well as selling resident and non-resident beach stickers. It also provides swimming lessons for children 4 years old and up, and conducts a lifeguard training class for children 15 years and older.Beach Parking Permit Stickers: How-To Purchase
To promote social distancing and public health, the Town encourages residents/taxpayers to purchase beach parking permits online. Non-Residents must purchase in-person at the Ellen T. Mitchell Bathhouse at 56 Surf Drive, open daily from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Beach Hours (In-Season)
- Parking attendants leave at 4:30 p.m. at pay beaches; 4:45 p.m. at sticker beaches, with the exception of Chapoquoit Beach & Old Silver Residents' Lot which are monitored until 7:30 p.m.
- Bathroom facilities close at 4:45 p.m.
- Lifeguards are off-duty at 5:00 p.m.
- The gates at all beaches, except Menauhant East and Megansett, are locked at 9:00 p.m. Those 2 lots are open 24 hours.
- No dogs are allowed on the public beaches from May 1 through October 1.

Adapted Beach Wheelchairs
Handicapped wheelchairs must be reserved by calling (508)548-8623 at least one day before. They are available for delivery to all 10 Town beaches from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily; site availability will be adjusted due to staffing changes beginning in mid-AugustEmployment
To be considered for hire, applicants must be 16 years or older. Those seeking a position in the Falmouth Beach Department or adjacent Seasonal DPW positions should do the following:
- Parking Attendants: Submit an application for employment to the Falmouth Personnel Department at any time; preference date April 8. Interviews will be held virtually at a later date TBD.
- Lifeguards: Submit an application for employment to the Falmouth Personnel Department at any time; preference date April 29. Lifeguard tryouts will be held on a weekend date in May. Applicants must have current Lifeguard and CPR certifications, or be enrolled in an accredited training program to be allowed to participate in the tryouts.
- Beach Maintenance Laborers (DPW): Submit an application for employment to the Falmouth Personnel Department at any time; preference date March 21.
- Clerks: Submit an application for employment to the Falmouth Personnel Department at any time; preference date April 8. Interviews will be held virtually at a later date TBD.
