Waste Management

Change in Waste Management Facility Procedures

Per order of Falmouth Select Board: Beginning Tuesday August 15, Falmouth residents will be required to have an annual Waste Management Facility sticker to access the upper level of the Waste Management Facility. This area includes collection containers for Mattresses, White Goods, Tires, Propane Tanks, and Construction & Demolition Waste.

Single visit fees will still allow access to lower-level facilities, which includes the Single Stream Recycling container.

The Universal Waste Shed (batteries, fluorescent bulbs, mercury devices), Food Scrap Compost, Book Collection Boxes, Clothing/Textile Collection Boxes, and Swap Shop are also limited to Falmouth residents and do not require a sticker.

Mattress Recycling

Falmouth residents are required to have an annual WMF sticker in order to drop-off Mattresses, Box Springs, or other materials on the Upper Level of the Waste Management Facility. See "Fees" page for fee schedule.

Please call ahead to WMF Gate (508-457-9353) before bringing Mattresses- as storage space to hold materials between pick-ups is limited.

The Waste Management Facility is located at 458 Thomas B. Landers Road, Falmouth

Open Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 7:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

When the town "dump" was capped in 1999, it was replaced by the Waste Management Facility. This facility functions as a transfer station, everything that comes here must be sorted and stored for eventual recycling or disposal elsewhere. Therefore, it is vital that loads entering the gate be packed to facilitate easy and quick separation.

Starting April 10, 2023, Falmouth residents or small business owners may drop-off Single Stream recyclable materials including Cardboard at the WMF.

  • Disposal Sticker or one-visit payment is REQUIRED.
  • CHARGE for Recycling is $2.50 / Per Each 32-Gallon quantity of material.
  • Recyclable materials must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants.
  • Residents will be required to dump-out their recyclables into containers provided at the Gate for inspection and measurement of quantity.
  • Plastic Bags are not accepted in recycling and must be removed by resident.
  • Paper Bags are accepted to contain papers and cardboard.

Nauset Disposal will continue to pick up household recycling at curbside. Please use this municipal service. Click here for Recycling Pickup Information.
