Note Regarding Inspections

Please note that we have changed our inspection process for building inspections only. Inspections will now be taken one day in advance. Please contact our main number 508-495-7470 to schedule your inspection between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Again, this new process does not apply to plumbing or electrical permits. Call ahead is one day in advance for building inspections only.

Inspection Procedures

House numbers must be posted at all job sites before the job is started and any inspections take place. The following is a list of inspections required for new and addition/alteration building. It is the responsibility of the Construction Supervisor to make sure all required inspections occur. Stamped plans and building cards must be at the job site at all times. Make sure each inspector signs the original card after each inspection, otherwise the next set of inspections will not take place:
  • Final building inspection
  • Final electric/plumbing inspection
  • Fireplace throat inspection
  • Footing/Foundation inspection
  • Insulation inspection
  • Rough electric/plumbing inspection
  • Rough frame inspection
  • Sonotube inspection
No occupancy permits will be issued until building card is returned containing all inspectors' signatures. The permit fee will cover the inspections listed above. However, reinspections will require an additional fee of $50 per reinspection.

  • Rough inspection of steel rebar
  • Electrical inspection
  • Installation of 4-foot fencing with self-enclosed gate
  • Final inspection
