2023 Deer Hunting Information

This is a reminder that the 2023 deer hunting season is now here. Below are the dates when deer hunting is allowed:

Archery:                                   Open now until November 25th.

Shotgun:                                   November 27 – December 9.

Primitive Firearms:                 Dec 11 – Dec 30th.

Generally, town and state land not posted are open for hunting. (some restrictions apply)

We recommend that people walking in areas used by hunters wear bright colored clothing (hunter orange or similar) and avoid walking in those areas at sunrise and sunset hours. Also, pets should always be on leash and have bright orange on them as well.

  • Possession of a loaded firearm, discharge of a firearm, or hunting on land of another within 500 feet on any dwelling or building in use, unless permitted by the owner or occupant.
  • Hunting on posted land without permission.
  • Hunting on Sundays
  • Loaded shotgun on any motor vehicle, recreational vehicle, or motorboat, except in the migratory game bird hunting seasons.
