Water Main Replacement Project's: 2025
Falmouth Water Department - Notice of Construction

Week #6 Progress (10-13-25 to 10-17-25) - installation of approximately 430 linear feet of 8'' ductile iron water main from 20 Sandwich Rd to 4 Sandwich Rd, installation of multiple fire hydrants and pressure tested / chlorinated the entire water main. THERE WILL BE NO ROADWORK NEXT WEEK 10-20-25 TO 10-24-25. This is because we are sampling the water quality of the water main and our 3rd party lab requires 2-3 business days to return the completed results. Once we receive clean result, we intend to begin the water service installation for each home on Sandwich Rd potentially the week of 10-27-25 to 10-31-25. We will update this page when we have a confirmed start date for this portion of the roadwork.
Week #5 Progress (10-6-25 to 10-10-25) - installation of approximately 1050 linear feet of 8'' ductile iron water main from 169 Sandwich Rd to 20 Sandwich Rd. Trench paving from this water main install will take place Friday 10-10-2025. Work will resume on Monday 10-14-2025 (weather permitting) and continue working Southerly towards Teaticket HWY. After completing the tie in on Teaticket HWY at Sandwich Rd, the water main will be pressure tested and sampled. When the results have been submitted back to The Town of Falmouth (from our lab) to proceed, water service installation tie overs onto the new main will begin. Prior to installation of the new water services, we will update the residents effected 48 hours in advance.
Week #4 Progress (9-29-25 to 10-3-25) - installation of approximately 1065 linear feet of 8'' ductile iron water main from 126 Sandwich Rd to 69 Sandwich Rd. Trench paving from this water main install will take place Friday 10-3-2025. Work will resume on Monday 10-6-2025 and continue working Southerly towards Teaticket HWY.
Week #3 Progress (9-22-25 to 9-26-25) - installation of approximately 800 linear feet of 8'' ductile iron water main from Sandwich Rd at Gonsalves Ln to 126 Sandwich Rd at The Cape Verdean Club. Due to rain, construction was significantly delayed this week. Trench paving from this water main install will take place Friday 9-26-2025. Work will resume on Monday 9-29-2025 and continue working Southerly towards Teaticket HWY.
Week #2 Progress (9-15-25 to 9-19-25)- installation of approximately 1,100 linear feet of 8'' ductile iron water main from 217 Sandwich Rd to Sandwich Rd at Gonsalves Ln. Trench paving from this water main install will take place Friday 9-19-2025. Work will resume on Monday 9-22-2025 and continue working Southerly towards Teaticket HWY.
Week #1 Progress 9-8-25 to 9-12-25 - installation of approximately 475 linear feet of 8'' ductile iron water main from Sandwich Rd at Brick Kiln Rd to the frontage of 217 Sandwich Rd. Both 20'' gate valve assemblies have been completed on Brick Kiln Rd at Sandwich Rd. Trench paving from this water main install will take place Friday 9-12-2025.
Week #2: Beginning Monday, September 15th, 2025, CC Construction will continue installing 8'' water main on Sandwich Rd starting in front of 217 Sandwich Rd and working South towards Teaticket HWY. Trench paving for this water main installation will take place 9-19-2025. All homes and businesses will have water during this excavation period.
Sandwich Rd (Sandwich Rd at Brick Kiln Rd to Sandwich Rd at Teaticket HWY)
Beginning Friday, September 5th, 2025, CC Construction will be mobilizing to replace the water main on Sandwich Rd between Brick Kiln Rd and Teaticket HWY. This project will take approximately 60 business days to install approximately 5000 linear feet of 8'' ductile iron water main and replace approximately 60 existing water services. The starting location of excavation will begin on Sandwich Rd at Brick Kiln Rd and work South towards Teaticket HWY. During this time period, traffic delays are expected. Currently, both directions of traffic (North and South) will be accessible however an alternating traffic pattern will be in place for most of the project. Upon completion of this project, CC Construction will return in late Spring to mill and overlay the roadway with new asphalt. Weekly updates on this construction project will be advertised every Friday for the following week.
