Two people have reported being stung by jellyfish in the last several days. One at Menauhant Beach and one at Bristol Beach. The Harbormaster reports that there are some present near shore but many more out in the sound near the Middle Ground. These jellyfish are described as being 3 to 5 inches diameter with tentacles 12 to 18 inches long. Please avoid contact at all cost since the sting is quite painful. See the lifeguards if stung; they are prepared to help treat the sting. Seek medical treatment if stung after hours or on beaches without lifeguards.
