[ARCHIVED] Beach News

Would like to catch people up on what's happening with the beaches.

Menauhant West took some rough hits in November and December from the winter storms. The dune has been replaced thanks to the DPW.

Some might  ask we keep putting the dune back only to lose it again. The dune protects the parking lot and the road, an so it needs to go back in place each time it goes.

The county dredge has been assembling some dredge pipe in the Menauhant East parking lot in preparation

of a dredge project near by. Menauhant will be getting the sand to nourish the beach.

Surf Drive beach has lost some sand as has Heights Beach, typically most of that sand returns by summer. Bristol Beach has in growing and we are pleased by that.

Mail in beach stickers are being received in Town Hall so please take advantage of that to avoid long  lines in May.

Lastly, we see lots of people walking dog on the beach, we ask that you pick up after your animal and take any dog waste with you back home.

Please call me with any concerns or questions at 508-274-1498

Bruce Mogardo, Beach Supt.
