[ARCHIVED] Route 28/Main Street Water Main Replacement Update 1/07/2020

We will continue to install the 16 inch main on Main Street next week.

As of the end of today we are east of Post Office Lane and will continue eastward next week.

Main Street during the day will be closed to through traffic from Post Office Lane to Library Lane.

Electronic signage will be updated daily to indicate what portions are open to local traffic.

On Monday we will start off with access to Town Hall from the Library Lane end with traffic routed down Walker to Chancery.

We will be by Town Hall Square end of day Monday and access on Tuesday will be from Post Office Lane end.

Wednesday and Thursday we work towards Library Lane and perhaps further.

Friday is for paving and we will need the entire area closed off. We will evaluate the ability to maintain one lane traffic.

The work does not typically require that we interrupt the supply of water. We did hit an unmarked service on Thursday this week.

We shut down the main for about 90 minutes to fix the broken service.

Not expected but can happened during construction.

As always, thanks for your patience and your ability to adapt to the ever changing detours.
