We moved along quickly this week on the stretch of Main Street from King towards Nye Road.
We will pave the roadway on Friday this week and it looks like we will have the Main installed to at least Lantern Lane.
The detour this week has been King Street to Queen Street to Nye Road and that will be in force again on Monday.
It looks like we will be in the Nye Road intersection on Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest.
There are multiple other pipes in the ground and much like the work at Gifford Street and Main it will take at least a day to get the new pipe installed through the intersection.
When we are working there the detour will be King to Queen and then to Scranton. Traffic will be able to access local business from each end.
Once we cross through Nye Road and Main we will continue on Main Street. The detour will then be Nye to Queen to Scranton.
We should be past Dunkin Donuts by the end of the day Thursday and then on Friday we will pave the work zone.
We understand that closing the road is an inconvenience.
However, by doing that we are getting the job done in ½ the time it would take if we tried to keep one lane open so the inconvenience is offset by a shorter duration of time to get intersection to intersection.
No snow and mild weather has helped us to get as far as we have as fast as we have.
