[ARCHIVED] Route 28/Main Street Water Main Replacement Update 3/13/2020

We will be working at various locations next week.

Main body of work on Monday and Tuesday is the directional drilling of the new pipe under the large drain at the Dairy Queen.

We will have two pits one in/near the Falmouth Heights intersection and one near Dairy Queen. We will have about 200 feet of fusion welded pipe on the ground at some point ready for installation.

Intent is to maintain one lane of traffic with Falmouth Heights road from Robbins (Altama) to Davis Straits closed off – detour Robbins/Scranton.

We will also be pressure testing and flushing lines at three locations next week. Locust Street to MainSt/Palmer Ave at east end of Green is one segment. King Street to Nye Road is a second segment. And the segment from Sandwich Road to Stop and Shop on Teaticket Highway.

We will also be installing hydrants and services. Monday we have scheduled a hydrant at Trotting Park and Teaticket Highway. We have some services on Teaticket that we hope to be able to install on the later part of the week. For that work we will restrict to alternating one way traffic as we move from location to location.
