The water main work is now focused on connecting building services, fire services and side streets to the new main. We have been working from west to east on Main Street.
Next week April 27th to May 1 we will be working between Walker Street and Gifford Street. Traffic will be detoured onto Katherine Lee Bates.
Access to local business and take out services will be maintained. If you are are resident or business in the work area there will be a two to three hour interruption of service when we do the switch over for your location. The project’s inspector typically will be contacting you the day before or an hour or two ahead of the actual work so that you can be prepared for the interruption. When the water is reconnected we ask that you run the cold water for 5 to 10 minutes to flush out the line from the new main to your sink.
