Algae bloom with scum layer

The cyanobacteria advisory has been removed for Fresh Pond.  The pond has received low sample results for two consecutive weeks, and is once again considered acceptable for recreation.

High levels of cyanobacteria have been found in the following ponds:

  • Mares Pond

These water bodies may be unsafe for people and pets.  DO NOT swim or recreate in areas with blue-green algae.  DO NOT drink water. Keep all pets, livestock, and horses away from blue-green algae. Clean fish well and discard guts. Avoid areas with blue-green algae when boating. Call your doctor or veterinarian immediately if you or your animals have sudden or unexplained sickness or signs of poisoning.
