PUBLIC NOTICE HURRICANE HENRI
August 21, 2021 7:00PM
Hurricane Henri currently has sustained winds now in excess of 75 miles per hour. This storm continues to be anticipated to have a significant impact with rain and winds on the Town of Falmouth beginning early Sunday morning through early Monday. All Town emergency operations departments, including Fire, Police, Public Works, Marine and Environmental Services and Communications, continue to be closely involved in planning and preparations for this coming storm event. The Town is standing up the Falmouth Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as of midnight this evening. The EOC can be reached at: (508) 495-2602.
All residents in low-lying areas near the West and South Coasts of Falmouth should be prepared to deal with potential temporary flooding due to rainfall and wind-driven coastal storm surges. Residents should make all necessary preparations to allow your continued safety during this storm, including ample food and water to avoid any unnecessary vehicle trips during the height of this storm during the day on Sunday. Should you experience an emergency, you should follow the normal protocol of dialing 911. Should it become necessary given the impact of this storm, the Town is prepared to open an emergency shelter and one or more warming/cooling centers to ensure the safety of Falmouth residents.
The Town webpage will be updated periodically over the coming 36 hours as this situation further develops – www.falmouthma.gov.
Residents and visitors can also sign up to receive alerts for this and future emergency events via phone call, text message, email and/or social media via a new alert system: FalmouthAlert. To start receiving such alerts from the Town, text ‘falmouthmaalert’ to 67283 or visit
