Falmouth Seeks Input on Police Chief Search

The Town of Falmouth is recruiting internal and external candidates for the Chief of Police position following Chief Dunne’s announcement that he will retire effective May 31, 2023. Interim Town Manager seeks public input on the experience, qualities and skills the Town should seek in its next Police Chief and the priorities that the Police Chief should address when hired.  Public input will be considered in developing interview questions and assessment center exercises.

Comments can be submitted on the Town website or by mail to Town Manager, 59 Town Hall Square, Falmouth, MA 02540.  Comments must be received no later than Monday, March 6, 2023.

Sample Questions for Public Input:

•    What qualities and characteristics do you think are most important in the Town's next Police Chief?

•    What type of experience should the Town seek?

•    What are the top priorities that the new Police Chief should address?

•    What are some of the challenges facing the Town that the new Police Chief should be aware of and understand?
