Opal Lee's 2.5 Mile Walk
This walk is sponsored by the Juneteenth Community Celebration Committee. The walk is inspired by Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth, who walked 2.5 miles each year to honor the delayed emancipation of enslaved African Americans in Texas.
