This week there will be hydrant flushing to test the water distribution system at various locations
Next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday May 7th, 8th, and 9th we will be hydraulically testing the water distribution system.
The test requires that we open individual hydrants and verify the flow capacity of the pipeline.
This will provide us with data to use in an on going evaluation to prioritize the replacement of undersized and ancient water mains.
We have thirty locations that we will be doing these hydrant flow tests.
When we do these test nearby residents should expect to experience “brown water”.
Each test should last 15 or so minutes and the disturbance should subside within an hour or two of our completion of the test.
