Eel River East Mooring Field Adjustments:
In order to comply with the National Shellfish Sanitation Program requirements, the mooring field in Eel River East will be limited to the area west of a straight line running up the middle of the river. This area will be classified as Conditionally Approved for shell fishing by the Division of Marine Fisheries. Conditionally approved areas are typically open for shell fishing from November to May 1st.
South Coordinates: 41 33.350, -70 32.565
North Coordinates: 41 33.999, -70 32.031
All moorings in Eel River East currently east of the line above (on the Washburn’s Island Side) will be removed by relocation to the West Side or Attrition. No new mooring permits will be issued for the East Side of the river. This area will be classified as Approved for shell fishing by the Division of Marine Fisheries. Approved areas are typically open to shell fishing year-round.
