IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE
Tuesday, March 30, 2021
Today and tomorrow (Tuesday, March 30 and Wednesday, March 31) the Town is working with local contractor Lawrence Lynch in preliminary work to ultimately result in the planned resurfacing of Main Street east from downtown to Falmouth Heights Road. This includes the systematic raising of existing manhole covers in preparation for the final resurfacing to occur within the coming 30-45 days. This work is occurring in a moving sequence with Police details down Main Street, with safety cones and orange paint designating those locations where motorists need to be extra cautious as they travel this area.
Excavations and replacement of certain sidewalk locations downtown is also occurring during this time. This is to replace the temporary asphalt resurfacing blocks which occurred at the new water line connection locations with a permanent concrete sidewalk surface.
We apologize to all those inconvenienced by this temporary situation, which as noted is necessary to accomplish the final, planned Main Street resurfacing to fully recover from the multi-year water main replacement project. If at all possible, motorists are encouraged to avoid this mandatory construction area for these two days if your travel destinations so allow. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this temporary disruption.
