[ARCHIVED] Planning Department Launches Parking and Wayfinding Studies

The town's Planning Department is embarking on two new planning projects and is seeking community feedback. Over the spring, summer and fall, the Town will begin developing its first-ever Downtown Parking Management Plan and Downtown Wayfinding Signage Plan. These two plans will help evaluate the downtown parking and signage system, quantify the parking usage, assess the signage effectiveness, and provide recommendations for future improvements.

Public Survey

The first opportunity to provide feedback is by filling out the public survey located on the Planning Department’s project webpage. If you’d rather fill out a paper version, there are plenty of copies available at the Planning Department in Town Hall. This survey will give residents a chance to tell Town staff what they think about the current situation and to provide ideas for improvements – don’t miss your opportunity to share!

Open House Event

The Planning Department will host a public Open House Event on Thursday - May 16, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Hermann Meeting Room at the Public Library to help explain the purpose of these two projects, answer questions, and to take public feedback. Two time slots are offered in order to provide ample opportunity for folks to attend – stop by whenever it’s convenient and stay for as long as you can.

Make sure to visit the project webpage to learn more about the plans, fill out the online survey, and to explore ways to participate. Feel free to contact Jed Cornock, Town Planner, at planning@falmouthma.gov if you have questions or comments.
