The John L. Neill youth baseball complex located at 525 Gifford Street within Trotting Park was closed on January 9, 2025 due to the discovery of non-compliant soil and glass. The Town has contracted with Arcadis, an environmental consulting firm -- i.e. a licensed site professional -- to prepare a risk assessment report that will guide the remediation plan, monitoring, and future use of the fields.
This page has been set up to provide users of the fields and community members with up to date and accurate information regarding the temporary closure of the fields and the substances discovered during a renovation project.
